NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's starting members were Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States. NATO is a military alliance that promotes democratic values.
