Syrus discovered they were terraforming a planet orbiting the Proxima Centauri b Star and using Titan as a Way Station for cargo and supplies.“With the conclusive evidence that you have presented, Major Nash, we had declared a faction be created on behalf of the United Council.”
“A Faction?” Nash looked genuinely interested.
“The United Federation of Terra. A Militia born to push Mankind into the cosmos. You, Major, are one of it’s founding members.”
The Federation sought to unite the Earth’s governments and countries under the common goal of establishing contact with the new species, categorizing any intelligence gained from our interaction with them and if necessary, protecting the Earth from a possible foreign threat.
Under the UFT, three separate Branches were formed.
CREST: Cosmic Research, Expedition and Surveillance Team.
ARM: Astronautics Reconnaissance Marines
SLATS: Space Logistics, Aeronautics and Terraforming Squad
“Nash, you are hereby ordered to command the commissioned ship: Gideon as part of the newly formed Federation. You will leave to Titan and assist in their terraforming.” -UFT
