17 juin 1968 - End of Red Guards

Description:

Mao had orignally encouraged the violence by the Red Guard, but by 1967, China had fallen into complete anarchy. Mao ordered the PLA to close down the Red Guard, and schools were reopened. The PLA conducted a bloody purge of the Red Guards, killing thousands.
