Description:
Occurred in NSW, called the Appin Massacre. A drought was to have occurred and tension grew between the two parties. The near-by Gandangara people came from the mountains in search of food and Europeans were killed. Governor Macquarie fought back by saying that the natives were hostile, deploying a detachment which is said to have slaughtered and beheaded Aboriginal men, while also trampling children and women with horses and carts.
