1 janv. 1929 - The first phone was given to the president.

Description:

Herbert Hoover became the first president to have a telephone on his desk. Previous presidents had to talk on the phone in a booth outside of his executive office. This made work for the President much easier as he could make calls right from his desks and it improved the efficiency of the work he did because calls were right at his fingertips. He could contact people faster and that overall made his job easier and more productive.
