Description:

As tensions rose in Arkansas, Eisenhower knew he needed to do something. Thus, he placed the Arkansas National Guard under the federal control. 1,000 Army paratroopers were sent in to help with maintaining and restoring order in Little Rock. The African American students were able to be enrolled in school.
