Description:

This was one of the several brilliant products of the very capable John Quincy Adams, who was Secretary of State in James Monroe's Administration. This Treaty fixed the Upper Canadian border between Minnesota and the Rocky Mts. at the 49th parallel. It also permitted American fisherman access to Eastern Canada (New Foundland) fishing waters and provided for a ten year joint occupation of the Oregon Country with Britain.
