in June of 1964 there was a large FBI investigation. the FBI were investigating the disappearances of Michael Schwerner and Andrew Goodman, and James Chaney. all three men were members of CORE. Schwerner and Goodman were white men that traveled to Mississippi to help organize protests. Chaney was an African American man local to Mississippi. all three men were investigating the burning for a church in Neshoba. just outside of Philadelphia the men were arrested by a KKK member for church arson. on a dirt road called the rock cut road the three men were shot in the head and married by three klansmen.
