23 juill. 1967 - Detroit Riots

Description:

The Detroit Riots were series of violent clashes between the African American dominant neighborhoods and the police department. The riots lasted five days and resulted in many deaths and injuries. The undermining cause of the riots was the frustration African Americans were feeling about unemployment, poverty, the lack of economic opportunity, and unbearable living conditions. During this period of economic downfall in the black neighborhoods, the “white flight” was taking place, and millions of white Americans were moving to the suburbs and rebuilding their lives.
