1 sept. 1957 - Eisenhower sends in Federal Troops

Description:

In Little Rock, Arkansas, Governor Orval Faubus outlawed African Americans from enrolling in the public all White high school. When nine African American students tried to enroll at this highschool, violent broke out, putting the students in danger. To help, Eisenhower sent 1,000 US Army troops to restore order in Little Rock. To some, his decision was seen as overdone. To others, they applause him for the rapid relief he placed on the situation.
