17 mai 1954 - Brown v Board of Education
Description:
This US supreme court case ruled segregation in public schools illegal and unconstitutional. Now, black and white students could learn together in public schools, and this was a big step towards the vigorous fight for equality. Before this case, Linda Brown, a young black student had to walk the dangerous path across the railroad to her all black school. Although there was an all-white school just a block away from her house, she wasn’t allowed to enroll there and was forced to walk the dangerous path everyday because of segregation laws.
