Description:
The Coercive or Intolerable Acts were a set of laws that were set in place after the Boston Tea Party that were intended to punish the colonists. The colonists, however, responded to this by boycotting British goods. This was the way the British got back for the losses caused during the Boston Tea Party. The colonists, however, viewed these acts as an unjustified denial of their constitutional liberties, that had oppressed their rights from something that they were protecting them from. These acts were deemed unfair for the colonists because the colonists were defending their economy and rights, that the British kept taking.
