Description:

Carton asked if Darnay wanted to go out to dinner with him. When they were at the restaurant, Carton goes crazy and drinks a lot. Darnay who was rather uncomfortable tried to thank him and leave but Carton informs him that he doesn't like Darnay very much. Carton admits to being a heavy drinker and says "I am a disappointed drudge . . . I care for no man on earth, and no man on earth cares for me."
