1 janv. 5000 av. J.-C. - Neolithic societies

Description:

Heavily dependent on rice plantings and/or millet and/or wheat (from Mesopotamia)

Along the Yangzi River and Yellow River (mostly Yellow river)

YELLOW RIVER (btw): just like the Indus! Very unpredictable, very angry but also useful in how it kept people alive (most of the time).
It flooded very aggressively and frequently, was kind of yellow (suspicious) and had kind of a soup-like texture (more suspicious -- what kind of soup?)
Called "China's Sorrow" (because it was such a disappointment)

So the Yellow River was kind of an asshole but it toughened up the early not-yet-Chinese into building really cool irrigation systems like the ones in Mesopotamia and also some defensive anti-flood structures.
