-aims: prepare for war in 4 years, huge increase in war-related industrial production, economic self-sufficiency

-increased production helped reduce unemployment

-goals not reached, but major increases were made in some areas (however Germany was unprepared for war --> Blitzkrieg military tactics)

-focus on military production meant limited consumer goods + wages frozen (however after many years of unemployment most accepted this as they had work)
