Description:
The Cherokee tribe had civilized into North Carolina, they followed the laws, became religious, and started white farming methods. The state of Georgia didn't like that they want them to move to Indian Territory in Oklahoma. They argued back saying that "they were a sovereign nation confirmed by treaties with the U.S. government." Marshall said, no that they are an dependent nation. Later on the United States said that the government had the right to move the tribe around, but Georgia didn't force them off their lands.
