5 mars 1770 - The Boston Massacre

Description:

The Boston Massacre was a street fight started by about 50 patriot citizens who attacked a British sentinel. When British officer, Captain Thomas Preston, called in additional soldiers, the mob attacked them too with snowballs, stones, and sticks. The soldiers then shot into the crowd, killing five and wounding a few others. The term "massacre" was used as propaganda to deepen distrust of the British in America.
