Description:
Emphasis placed on collecting objects that didn't appear to have been influenced by European goods. Centennial celebration was part of a push to conserve national and ecological history, Native Americans are understood to fall somewhere in between. Initial plans to have live Indigenous exhibits scrapped after a flood of petitions from Native leaders seeking to attend the Centennial and use it as a platform foradvocacy.
