17 janv. 1920 - Prohibition - Banning the Distribution of Alcohol(1920)
Description:
In 1920, Canada planned to ban the sale and distribution of alcohol. This was due to the fact that domestic abuse was breaking out and linked towards alcohol addiction, and just decline in mortality throughout society. By the end of WW1, all provinces and territories regarding Quebec had banned liqour sales. Most provinces only lasted until mid-20's. People of wealthy backgrounds could still afford to purchase alcohol, and clubs would secretly still sell drinks to customers, this was supplied by trucks that would recieve alcohol from other countries. The ban of alcohol did not stopp people from consuming it, instead created violence and crimes became organized.
