The Oath of the Tennis Court was an event when the third estate of France, met at a Tennis Court to make a special oath. In these modest surroundings, they took a historic oath not to disband until a new French constitution had been adopted.

I think this event was important because it was the first time the third estate banded together to stand up to the king. They were being over taxed and being treated like trash. This showed the king that they weren’t just going to sit and take this awful treatment, they were going to band together and do something about it. This is the initial start of the French Revolution.
