Description:

This was the first major battle of the civil war. A union general marched his troops down to Richmond virginia to put a swift end of the war. Unfortunately both sides underestimated the other side and underestimated how long the war would last. The union soldiers originally drove back the confederates but general Jackson arrived and eventually ushered in the first major union defeat.
