In 1845, there was a potato famine that swept across Ireland. Many Irish families fled to the US in hopes of finding a better way of life and good food. The Irish population that came to the US settled in the Old Tenement House. Many black families lived in the same building. Over time, the two groups integrated and so did their culture. The two groups started dance sessions. In these dance sessions, they would produce tapping sounds and steps, which we call tap today.Ajouté au bande de temps:
