Amber Heard announced the death of her mother Paige, earlier this year, in May.

And the 34-year-old actress was heartfelt as she penned a tribute to her late mother a day after what would have been her 64th birthday, Friday.

Taking to Instagram, the Aquaman actress shared photos leaning on her girlfriend Bianca Butti, as they looked on to a small memorial of her mother.

'Yesterday was my mom’s birthday,' she wrote. 'They say the first one is the hardest. I hope that’s true.'

She continued to say: 'Nothing will ever lessen how much I miss her or will miss being able to tell her happy birthday.'

Amber wore a white linen shirt, with army green slacks and had her blonde hair up in a braided bun.

Amber shared a similar picture to her Instagram stories, though rather than lovingly leaning on each other, Amber wrapped her arm around the woman who appeared to be Bianca as they looked on.

Amber initially shared her 'heartbreak' in May as she revealed her mother's passing.

'I am heartbroken and devastated beyond belief at the loss of my mom, Paige Heard,' she began in the caption at the time.

'She left us too early, clasping onto the memory of her beautiful, gentle soul. She will be missed from the very depths of our hearts forever,' she continued.

'Her unflinching, open heart made her the most beautiful woman I had ever known. It’s hard to imagine and even more difficult to say but I feel truly lucky to have been her daughter and been given the gift of having the light she shone on everyone, fall on me for nearly 34 years.

'This has been an unbelievably painful time but in that, I am reminded of what survives us all, love,' wrote the actress.

'The kindness, support and generosity my sister Whit and I have received from friends and family has been utterly soul-saving.'

Paige, 63, and her husband raised Amber in Austin, Texas.

Amber has been spotted spending time with her father David during coronavirus lockdown, and were seen horseback riding together late last month.
