1 déc. 1969 - First draft lottery drawing
Description:
Nixon initiates a draft lottery, the first since 1942. Before this, draftees are picked by local draft boards to reach a quote, typically prioritizing older men first. In an attempt to reflect fairness, the lottery, however, randomly assigns each day of the year, representing birthdays, a number between 1 and 366. The lower the number assigned to your birthday, the more likely you are to be drafted.
