1 févr. 1967 - Viking Funerals

Description:

This was one of the less influential movements of the Cold War but it was still significant and creative. The Viking protests of 1967 were a creative way to protest the nuclear arms race. These were peaceful protests in an attempt to end the development of highly dangerous weapons. The members of these gatherings formed themselves in large groups similar to the protests of today. The artistic side of these protests is the protesters would make large pieces of art, and or cosplay Vikings to symbolize the loss of a generation. The Vikings and Norse mythology as a whole represent strength in unity and individual strength. The protesters are shaming the loss of individual strength of the people who are incentivizing the death machines. While less influential, this was still an interesting outcome of the Cold War.
