HOW JOHNNY'S $650M FORTUNE SANK!
Got the bad news before fight with ex-wife Amber
FREEWHEELING Johnny Depp got a $650 million punch in the gut just hours before his vicious brawl with then-wife Amber Heard on her 30th birthday, the movie pirate told a British court!
While fighting to prove he is not a wife beater and win a libel case against a London newspaper, the Pirates of the Caribbean heartthrob testified about the run-up to his fight with Heard, saying he'd met with his financial advisers and was told "since Pirates Il and III, I had made - and it seems a ludicrous number — $650 million* and lost it all.
To make matters worse, he claims he was informed, "I had not only lost the $650 million, but I was $100 million in the hole because they had not paid the government my taxes for 17 years." Depp then sued the firm, TMG, which responded by branding the actor "a spoiled brat with no impulse control." The firm claimed their cash-crazy client spent over $75 million buying up 14 residences around the world! They countersued, and the case was eventually settled.
However, Johnny, now 57, lived like royalty, Amber said of the rosy first days of her romance with the superstar.
*It was like I was dating a king, with his level of fame and the way he lived," she once cooed.
But by the time she turned 30 in 2016, she was singing a different tune. She now claims Johnny was an abuser, who knocked her around after arriving late for her birthday party.
He insists she's lying — and is airing their dirty laundry in a suit against a paper that called him a "wife beater." He claims Amber hit him, which she denies.
But they both agree on his lifestyle fueled by cocaine, pot and booze!
The Lone Ranger legend burned through as much as $2 million a month, according to a report by CNBC, dropping dough on houses, art-work, staff, security, a yacht, a 45-acre tropical paradise in the Bahamas and an entire French village. He also spent tens of thousands each month on wine alone!
*It's insulting to say that I spent $30,000 on wine, because it was far more," Johnny boasted during a 2018 interview.
To make ends meet in 2015, he had to sell off his 37-acre spread in France, along with his monogrammed china. [From THE JDC - NOT TRUE!]
But he's not living in the poorhouse. His 2020 net worth is still estimated at a staggering $200 million!
