After talking about it, Severus and Lily make a plan to reveal their relationship. Lily's confrontation with James asking about her ring is a major factor, since most people will be able to link them eventually. Severus, when passing Lily, pauses to kiss her on the lips, despite her warning the Marauders were following her. They confirm their 'date' on the lake edge, then call eachother "Darling" and "Love". This infuriates James, and Sirius takes his side.
