• Enclosed walls contain nearly 100 artificial islets
• High walls around the islets (18-25 ft tall)
Context: ruined city located in Pohnpei. Nan Madol means "spaces between" and reference to the canals of the ruins.
Function: Capital for Saudeleur Dynasty until 1628.
Form: was a ceremonial and political seat of the Saudeleur Dynasty which united the people. Was created by "sorcerers" by case of an old legend.
