Fight between the poor (farmers and indentured servants) & the government
They were angry because:
- They wanted more land (rich people had the good land near the coast, so the poor had to move to lands in the west, causing tension between the native americans and colonists)
- No government help (government refused to defend/attack with the colonists against the native americans)
- Rich people had all the power

Nathaniel Bacon (a rich guy who sided with the poor) got mad at the government and threw a rebellion
- They burned Jamestown as a result
- Rebellion ended when Nathaniel died from a disease

Indentured servants were labeled as troublemakers
- African slaves come in
- Government power became limited -> more voting rights to free men
