Description:
A nonviolent coup was staged by a group of officers against President Keita, who removed him from office in favor of a 14 member military committee, with Lt. Moussa Traoré as president. They wished for economic reforms, yet faced much trouble with many internal political conflicts and the Sahelian drought. As such, Mali resided with French territories to gain access to more resources and opportunities for Mali. Mali was run as a dictatorship opposed to a socialist republic, yet still remainded with one-party in mind.
