Most normal citizens lost trust in the monarchy when Marie Antoinette because they didn’t trust her. She wasn’t trusted because she partied a lot, there were rumors that she was with other men, she was living a good lifestyle in the 1780s even though there were financial problems and in 1785 she was caught in a necklace scandal that caused most citizens to lose all the remaining trust they had for her.
