-A movement in Poland where the polish trade union wanted to be separated from the Soviets. It became the first independent labor union in a Soviet-bloc country.
-US involved because they were against communism too and agreed to people getting independence. Soviets were involved because they were the ones that Poland wanted independence from. This was part of the Cold War because it shows that more and more people are becoming anti-communist.
