Description:
The US wanted leftist Sandinista government in Nicaragua to be removed but they also wanted American hostages in Lebanon to be free. In order to accomplish everything they sold the Iranians weapons in exchange for help with negotiating the release the of the American hostages. The US then took the money they made with this deal and used it to remove the Sandinista.
