aug 20, 1968 - Prague Spring and Soviet Invasion
Description:
"Prague Spring" was a period of liberation in the communist country of Czechoslovakia. 200,000 Warsaw Pact troops and 5,000 tanks invaded Czechoslovakia in order to crush the movement. The Czechoslovakians tried a peaceful approach, but they were no match for the Soviet military. Gustav Husak took power and repealed laws and liberation under the previous leader, Alexander Dubcek. This invasion shows the battle between communism and capitalism, with the Soviets and America as the mascots.
