apr 19, 1923 - The first Arizona nurse licensing examination is given.
Description:
Description: The very first license tests were developed, given, and graded by the members of the AZBN. The secretary of the board was responsible for proctoring the tests for the graduate nurses (Shields, 1969). National license examinations where not use until 1945 when the National League for Nursing developed and began administration of the National test pool exam (Randolph, 2001).
Reflection: This was our first steps toward the NCLEX examination here in Arizona. Nursing is a complex set of knowledge and skill. There is a lot to be considered when trying to develop a standardized method of examining an individuals competency in nursing.
