sep 5, 1774 - first continental congress
The first continental colonists was a meeting from delegates from 12 colonies minus Georgia that met in Philadelphia. The purpose of the First Continental Congress was to organize colonial resistance to the British Parliament's Coercive Acts. This is good for me because the Coercive acts were bad for my profits and were enacted by people who I did not have a say in electing. Victory for Colonists!
