apr 5, 1764 - Sugar act
The sugar act required colonial merchants to pay a tax of six pence per gallon on the importation of foreign molasses. However, it was never been effectively collected due to colonists resistance and evasion. This is bad for me because then I would lose a percentage of my profits. Defeat for colonists!
