jan 1, 1940 - Arizona nurses aid in war efforts durring WWII

Description:

Description: Many nurses who had previously been inactive became actively employed to increase healthcare availability in war times. The Cadet Nurse Corps was established to train and recruit nurses into the war efforts between 1943 and 1945. Student nurses that were still enrolled in the program after the war was concluded were permitted to complete the program and graduate (Shields, 1969).
Reflection: I have cared for many retired nurses in my home health career. They can be difficult to work with at times. They are set in their ways and often a bit stubborn, but I have always had so much respect for them. One in particular was a proud Cadet Nurse who had a poster very similar to the one I have attached here hanging on the wall in her bedroom. So many great stories!
