Description:
The U.S., Canada, and 10 Western European countries formed NATO. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization agreed that if a country attacked one of it's members, then it would be considered as an attack on all of its members. NATO would place America in the center of all foreign affairs in the future. As a result of this formation, the Soviet Union and its satellites would create the Warsaw Pact in 1955.
