jun 4, 1944 - Fall of Rome
After victories over the Germans in Northen Africa, the Allies attempted to Invade Italy, hoping to shift the focus of the Germans and get them out of France. After a long and difficult time for Allied Troops in Italy, the city of Rome had finally fallen on June 4th of 1944. This was a turning point in WW2 because it largely contributed to the eventual surrender of the Italians, which greatly wounded the Axis Powers.
