mar 5, 1769 - The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre further pushed the colonists to the revolutionary war. When a British sentinel was threated by a mob about 50 people he called for backup but by the time his troops came the mob grew to 400 people. The British soldiers fired their muskets and three rebels were killed on the spot, 8 were injured while 2 later died of their injuries. Obviously this event angered the citizens of Boston and they demanded a trial for the British Sentinel and the soldiers who fired. The Sentinel was declared innocent but the two soldiers were branded on their thumbs for being found guilty.
