nov 8, 1942 - Operation Torch
Operation Torch was an invasion of French North Africa by the British and United States. At the time France held territories in Algeria and Morocco. This operation was important because it was the first operation that British and Americans had planned an invasion together. There Rommel forces surrendered to the Allies later in May. This was a turning point in the war because it showed that America and Britain were strong as allies.
