Description:
The General Cornwallis decides to station his men in a peninsula where he is surrounded on three sides by water, allowing the combined arms of American and French military to surround Yorktown. After heavy bombardment from American and French artillery, numerous losses, and deteriorating morale, Cornwallis asked for capitulation terms on 17 October, 1781. After two days, the Cornwallis surrendered on 19 October, and resulted in negotiations between America and Britain and formally ending the War in 1783 with the treaty of Paris.
