mar 9, 1862 - Moniter vs. Merrimack (Battle of Hampton
On March 9th, 1862 two of the most advanced naval vessels duked it out in Chesapeake Bay.
The battle between the 2 ironclads lasted for four hours and ended in a draw due to the fact that all the shots they fired at each other would simply bounce off the their iron shells. However this battle is important because it brought in a new age of naval engineering.
