feb 4, 1894 - Coxey's Army
Description:
Coxey's Army was a protest march of unemployed workers led by Jacob Coxey, an Ohio businessman. They marched from Washington D.C to Ohio and proposed that the federal works project paid and to provide jobs for the unemployed. Coxey died in a congressional committee. Coxey's Army is important because they walked during a time of the worst economic depression and was one of the only groups to actually reach their destination. This event also influenced other marches and for people to stand up for what's right.
