The Battle of Tippecanoe, on November 71811, was an American victory over the First Nations during Tecumseh's War in the War of 1812. Tecumseh was the leader of the First Nations Confederacy that was formed to resist American from entering Aboriginal land in the late 18th -19th centuries. He sided with the British during the war. The battle lasted about three hours. The Americans suffered 200 casualties, of which 60 were killed, while the First Nations lost 50 warriors and about 80 wounded. Tenskwatawa and his people abandoned their village, which Harrison destroyed on November 8.
