Description:
Living conditions on the Sioux reservations became tense when 4 Dakota men kill 5 settlers. The Dakota warriors attack the Lower Sioux Agency killing traders and government employees early in the morning on August 18. Later, the Dakota attack settlements along the Minnesota river killing hundreds of white European Americans. Then, a U.S. Army force gets ambushed at Redwood Ferry; 24 of their soldiers left dead.
