Description:
In August of 1831, Nat Turner began an uprising that spread throughout the plantations of Virginia. He and about seventy other units killed around sixty white people. Due to the rebellion, Virginia lawmakers took back the few civil rights slaves and free slaves had, including the prohibiting education for blacks and the right to get together.
