Abraham is elected as president, he is the first Republican, who received 180 of 303 possible electoral votes and 40 percent of the popular vote. Lincoln also said "Government cannot endure permanently half slave, half free...". During his presidency he becomes the one who freed the slaves because he sought for equality.
