Description:
This union sought to achieve 8 hour work day, equal pay for equal work, and to end child labor. They tried to achieve these items by their use of strikes. They were involved in the Great Railroad Strike and the Haymarket Riot. After the Haymarket riot, however, the union began to lose support.
